High Schools
We are zoned to Wisdom High School (formerly Lee) in Houston ISD. Linked below are the high school zoning maps for Spring Branch ISD and Houston ISD. This is all based on state district configurations. I did talk to Mayor Pappas and he indicated it has been this way for quite some time and is not an easy thing to change. When I get the questions, usually it is driven by a desire to send one’s child to Memorial HS (in Spring Branch ISD) vs. Wisdom. He did mention that it comes down to tax dollars and he believes that there have been cases where families made direct requests to Memorial and were able to move a child over so long as the family would be willing to pay the Spring Branch high school taxes in addition to their statutorily required Houston ISD high school taxes. This case is not a whole lot different than paying to attend a private school which many River Bend residents do and have done (although the additional tax bill may be less than the cost of attending private high school).
